The kitchen is simple but has everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. On the first floor are the living room with open kitchen. Downstairs you will find 4 large bedrooms and each bedroom has its own bathroom with toilet en-suite. Up to 4 cars can be parked on the site behind the electric fence. Just 8 minutes walk from the beach of Jan Thiel Beach is this modern, tightly furnished 8 person villa with spacious, completely walled garden. If Al and Peggy Bundy were signed up for a day trip, it would be this one. This spacious villa lives up to its name: on the terrace of the swimming pool you will always enjoy a Caribbean breeze with a great sea view. If you were trying to write a sitcom episode about a bad tourist outing, this "adventure" will be all the inspiration you need. I hope that at least a few people will read this review and save themselves from a wasted and uncomfortable day. I have been giving my best friend a ton of crap all day for booking us into this tour, still love him, but. We just got back onto the van to go home, and I would strongly recommend - if you are considering this trip - to instead just rent yourself a car and drive to Luquilla Beach and El Yunque for the day. Calm, very warm water, shallow, and for the most part, nothing but soft, soft sand on the floor. Some of the restaurants looked nice and modern and many of the other shops/restos were more like dumpy holes in the wall.īut the actual sandy beach here is fantastic. This is a publicly accessible beach, lots of parking, very much a locals spot, and along the beach's roadside is a long string of shops and restaurants. Then we got back into the boiling hot van for the next stop which was Luquilla Beach. Everyone else, this is not for you and the surroundings are hardly exceptional nor worth taking any risks you wouldn't usually enjoy. If jumping off rocks into water isn't something that you absolutely love to do and can't get enough of, ok sure. Climbing up from the bottom is slippery and then sliding down you have to be carefully upright and do not lay back or else you will fly around and hurt yourself and somebody did that while we were there. Next stop was the "natural waterslide" - basically along a river behind somebody's house, it's a long flat stretch of rock that you can slide down but you need to be very careful. By "dining" they mean, take you to places where you buy food. The next stop was a roadside eatery - keep in mind NO FOOD/DRINK included. The "rope" that you can swing from and jump into the river from, yes it's there and it's a rope, but whatever you are imagining, your expectations are way too high. From the tour descriptions they make it sound like you are visiting some natural wonder and then you get there and it is incredibly lame. The first stop where you jump off a cliff into the water is actually a concrete landing that someone built along the river and it has absolutely no charm and zero worth in terms of, "will I get a thrill out of this.". They take you NEAR the rainforest to a handful of low rent, embarrassing roadside attractions. I am sweating nonstop and this drive is miserable.Īnd so are most of the stops! CAUTION: THIS IS NOT THE RAINFOREST. I am writing this review from the back row of the rickety tour van which does not have any air conditioning.
